Our team was engaged by the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) as head contractor for the modernisation of Watsonia Heights Primary School to build a new Learning Community. This project has been staged in two blocks, Block A and Block B.
Block A required modifications of an existing school building and encompassed modification of the layout and a refresh of the fixture and finished for schools Science and Art program.
Block B required the demolition and remediation of hazardous materials to enable the construction of a new building. The new learning community building included eight flexible teaching spaces, communal learning areas, associated amenities and integrated landscaping (with amphitheatres).
This project was completed in a staged 12 month period. The team worked closely with the school to stage the significant disruptive works during the school holiday periods which mitigate the impact on the school and students alike.
