





Struxture were engaged by The University of Melbourne under lump sum contract conditions to deliver the Media Production Studios throughout the ground floor of the Babel Building. The project entailed detailed structural demolition which involved existing load-bearing columns to be strengthened by building them out and increasing their size. This enabled demolition of other structural elements within the project.
The space itself was fit out into a state-of-the-art TV and audio studio with acoustics forefront of mind. This included detailed wall types between all rooms as well as special acoustic panel and wall linings. The spaces were then fit out with brand-new audio-visual equipment to provide the new users with maximum output.
